The Account We Forgot

The Account We Forgot

1. The Oxygen Account

A person breathes about 740 kg of oxygen every year, which is produced by approximately 7 large trees.

If you are 40 years old, you owe nature the work of nearly 280 trees.

How many have you given back?

2. The Water Account

It takes about 5 liters of water to produce a single grain of rice.

A plastic bottle can take up to 450 years to decompose.

We consume more than we return, and this imbalance is one of the reasons behind water scarcity.

3. The Soil Account

Nature takes nearly 500 years to create one inch of fertile topsoil.

Yet, excessive use of chemicals can destroy it in just a few minutes.

When the soil dies, our food security dies with it.

4. The Health Account

Practicing yoga while breathing polluted air is like filling a bucket full of holes.

Before we improve our health, we must improve the air we breathe.

And clean air begins with trees.

Three Things to Avoid

Unnecessary plastic – Carry a reusable cloth bag instead of using multiple plastic bags.

Unnecessary travel – Walk if your destination is within 2 km. It reduces pollution and improves your health.

Unhealthy processed food – Packaged foods, refined flour, and soft drinks harm both your body and the environment.

Three Things to Practice

Adopt a tree – Plant and care for one tree near your home or school until it grows strong.

Save every drop of water – Turn off the tap while brushing and collect excess water whenever possible.

Feed the soil – Compost your kitchen vegetable waste once a week. It's not waste—it is nourishment for the earth.

Remember

The environment is not a distant forest.

It is the soil beneath your feet, the air you breathe, and the water you drink.

Protect these, and you protect the future.

A New Meaning for Birthdays

Cut the cake, but also plant as many trees as your age.

Turning 40? Plant 40 trees.

That is a celebration with lasting meaning.

This Earth is not our property—it is a trust borrowed from our children. Let us not betray that trust.

🌱 Stand up today. Take one step. Plant one tree. The breath of future generations depends on the choices we make today.
